Rigid/Solid PET #1

PET Production Process

Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is a versatile plastic from the polyester family. The resin identification code for this plastic is "1."

PET starts as a liquid monomer. It is then made into a stable, solid polymer that is used to make cups and containers through thermoforming. Our PET products are safe for food and beverage use with Declaration of Compliance available upon request for select products.

Recovery & Recycling Information

Clear, thermoformed PET without ink or labels is accepted for kirbside recycling. Check with your local recycler to see if PET is accepted in your community’s recycling program (WRAP - Recycle Now).

Recycled PET (rPET)

is a post-consumer material, or material from a used product, that is recycled into a usable material. Dart’s rPET comes from recycled water and carbonated beverage bottles. Our rPET products are safe for food and beverage use with Declaration of Compliance available upon request.
