Rigid/Solid PET #1

Foam PET Production Process

Foam PET is a valuable, versatile plastic from the polyolefin family. The resin identification code for this plastic is ♳. Foam PET starts as a monomer, is made into a stable polymer, then formed into products through extrusion and thermoforming.

Recovery & Recycling Information

Clear, thermoformed PET without ink or labels is accepted for recycling throughout most of the U.S. and Canada. However, sorting facilities are unlikely to recover packaging that is less than 2”x2”x 2” or black in color. Check with your local recycler to see if PET is accepted in your community’s recycling program.

Recycled PET (rPET)

is a post-consumer material, or material from a used product, that is recycled into usable material. Dart’s rPET comes from recycled water and soda bottles. Our rPET products received an FDA No Objection Letter, which deems rPET safe for use in new food and beverage packaging.
