Dart Container Corporation is pleased that its 2012 donation of five million disposable cups to the American Red Cross is supporting disaster services such as the Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.
DCC announced its second five-year product donation commitment to the ARC in January. "The free foam cups we provide not only help to lower the Red Cross's operational costs, but, most importantly, allow Red Cross staff and volunteers to efficiently provide cold and hot beverages to disaster victims and blood donors," said Jim Lammers, DCC’s Executive Vice President of Administration and General Counsel.
Between 2005 and 2010, Dart Container Corporation donated approximately 30 million co-branded cups to the American Red Cross. The new commitment, beginning in 2012, consists of five million co-branded cups per year over the next five years.
The Red Cross depends on the generous support of the American public to assist people affected by disasters. If you would like to help, please consider making a donation today by visiting www.redcross.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or texting the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation. Contributions may also be sent to American Red Cross, P.O. Box 30101, Lansing MI 48909-7601.
The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies nearly half of the nation's blood; teaches lifesaving skills; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a charitable organization — not a government agency — and depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its mission.
