Dart Container Returns to the 24th Annual Great LA River Cleanup with Fifth Year of Litter Pick Up and Foam Recycling Education

Los Angeles, CA (May 22, 2013) — For the fifth consecutive year, Dart Container is bringing foam recycling education and volunteer efforts to the 24th Annual Great LA River Cleanup hosted by the Friends of the LA River (FOLAR). On Saturday, May 18, 2013, employees from Dart’s Corona manufacturing facility joined thousands of other volunteers as they picked up trash and debris from the LA River.

Dart Wins EPS Recycling Award

Dart Container Corporation has received the Excellence in EPS Recycling Award for its “extraordinary commitment to the advancement of expanded polystyrene (EPS) recycling.” The award was presented by the EPS Industry Alliance in recognition of Dart’s:

  • 20+ years of community recycling efforts
  • Dedication to educating consumers that EPS is a fully recyclable material
  • Development of new technology that allows varying densities of EPS to be processed for recycling at the same time, reducing the amount of labor, energy, and capital required to maintain these programs
  • Numerous foam recycling drop-off locations in the United States and internationally
  • Efforts to improve and increase curbside recycling options.

Community Celebrates Renewable Energy Project That Will Transform Municipal Landfills to Usable Energy Benefiting Residents

Leola, PA (November 30, 2012) — Dart Container today was joined by city and community leaders for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate Dart’s landfill gas to energy cogeneration project. The initiative enables Dart to use gas recovered from Lanchester and Conestoga municipal landfills as a source of renewable energy to produce electricity, boiler fuel and steam.

Dart Container to invest $47 million, create 325 jobs in Mid-Michigan

Lansing, MI (November 28, 2012) — The Michigan Economic Development Corporation today announced Michigan Strategic Fund approval of a $3 million Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant for the expansion of Dart Container Corporation’s operations in Mason. The expansion will generate up to $47 million in new private investment and add a projected 325 new jobs.
